Edward Green for Brooks Brothers

A few weeks ago down at the Rag Exchange I was speaking with a young and remarkably composed (spoke in measured tones) associate of Robert Godley; the owner of Psycho Bunny and US representative for Edward Green. Somewhere in the boring muddle of the conversation this person told me that the female owner of Edward Green (whose name I forget) was in New York in part to meet with Brooks Brothers to discuss once again making a line of shoes for them. I say once again as this weekend I was speaking with one of the owners of the pioneering/digressive/defunct “Americana” label New Republic who mentioned that Edward Green was a one time maker for the Brooks Brothers Peal & Co. English Shoes line, a title which I believe was shared over the course of time with Crockett & Jones and others.
